About Me
My name is Alaria Long and I am a first-year Doctoral Student specializing in Educational Policy and Social Context at the University of California, Irvine. My research interests include Culturally Biased Standardized Testing, Minority Student Test Preparation, Improved Curriculum-based Education, and Career Readiness for Marginalized Students. I received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Kentucky State University. As an educator I had the privilege to teach 6th grade math for a year in Northern Kentucky. My previous studies were through the UCLA-HBCU Initiative Summer Training for Excellence in Education Research. During this time, I surveyed educators, created a database, codebook, and tables through RStudio Programing.
